Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

The Technology is a security program comprised of security policies and procedures, technology solutions, and internal resources to assist in detecting, defending, deterring, responding to, and mitigating the effects of acts of terrorism for the Westfield Retail Areas and Westfield Special Events at the redeveloped World Trade Center property in New York, New York.


The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

Approved: May 22, 2025 | Expires: May 31, 2030

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey provides the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) Tunnel Breach Mitigation System, a multi-layered approach for the detection, prevention, and mitigation of terrorist attacks using improvised explosive devices to breach PATH tunnel walls below the Hudson River (the Technology).

Omnilert, LLC provides Omnilert Gun Detect. The Technology is an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based software platform that analyzes customers’ cameras and video surveillance footage for firearms. Alerts are verified by Seller-trained individuals. The Technology also includes support services, including project planning, integration, and deployment. It also includes customer training, model and software updates, and customer technical support.


Iveda Solutions, Inc.

Approved: March 01, 2025 | Expires: February 28, 2028

Iveda Solutions, Inc. provides IvedaAI, a deep-learning-trained software application permitting users to search for a combination of objects in real-time and recorded video. The Technology uses cloud-storage for video data and can be applied to live streaming video, with internal and external alerts, and to recorded archives.


Devils Arena Entertainment LLC

Approved: January 14, 2025 | Expires: January 31, 2028

Devils Arena Entertainment LLC provides the Devils Arena Entertainment LLC Security Program. The Technology is physical security services for the Prudential Center Arena in Newark, New Jersey. The Technology also includes an integrated security program that is composed of physical and electronic security measures, policies, plans, procedures, and personnel structured to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate acts of terrorism.


Michael Stapleton Associates, Ltd., d/b/a MSA Security

Approved: January 09, 2025 | Expires: January 31, 2030

Michael Stapleton Associates, Ltd. provides Explosive Detection Canine (“EDC”) Teams. The Technology is single-purpose explosive detection canine teams comprised of one handler and one canine. It is deployed to Government and commercial customers to locate stationary explosives in vehicles, cargo, luggage, and boxes. The Technology includes the recruitment, hiring, and training of the employees providing these services. The Technology does not include deployment of armed security personnel; detection of person-borne explosives or crowd screening where detection is performed through use of a canine following explosive scents to distant or moving targets; actions initiated by the Seller’s clients after an initial canine alert on an object; or, emergency response procedures established by the Seller’s individual clients.


Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP

Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP provides Security, Fire, and Life Safety Systems Integration Services (the Technology) that can deter, prevent, detect, alert personnel, and respond to a variety of security and life safety threats. The Technology includes the following types of systems: fire alarm and detection systems; fire sprinkler systems; fire suppression systems; integrated security applications that link access control, CCTV, and fire, and mass notification systems.
