Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Virtual Emergency Services, LLC

Approved: January 21, 2015 | Expires: February 29, 2020

Virtual Emergency Services, LLC provides RESPONSEnet™ Emergency Mapping Database System (the “Technology”). The Technology is a scalable, modular, software database system that enables first responders and client personnel to create and securely access, via the Web, pre-determined tactical response plans and coordinate on-site Incident Command System activities to respond to emergency incidents. The Technology also includes total project management, data and imagery collection, data rendering and database population services, as well as onsite and Web-based customer training.


RhinoCorps, Ltd., Co.

Approved: December 12, 2014 | Expires: December 31, 2019

RhinoCorps Ltd., Co. provides Simajin/Vanguard Vulnerability Assessment Tool (the “Technology”). The Technology is a software tool used to assist facility operators in conducting risk assessments of their critical infrastructure and in quantifying the effectiveness of security procedures and defensive countermeasures. The Technology also includes systems engineering and technical assistance support services, execution of attack scenario simulations based on customer guidance and facility information, customer training, and technical documentation.


S2 Global, Inc.

Approved: September 08, 2014 | Expires: September 30, 2019

S2 Global, Inc. provides Security Screening Services (the “Technology”). The Technology operates and maintains non-intrusive security cargo inspection systems. The Technology includes the selection and provision of non-intrusive security screening equipment (and its associated software and networking); the provision of ancillary, commercially available technologies and infrastructure to be used in conjunction with the security screening equipment (e.g., video cameras, lighting, optical character recognition software, security barriers); performance of screening operations; recruiting, hiring, training and managing of personnel who conduct cargo screening operations; and maintenance and repair of the equipment.


Jackson Hole Airport Board

Approved: June 06, 2014 | Expires: June 30, 2019

Jackson Hole Airport Board provides Airport Passenger and Baggage Security Screening at the Jackson Hole Airport (the "Technology"). The Technology consists of trained and certified personnel who conduct passenger, airport employee, and baggage screening in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration ("TSA") guidelines and standard operating procedures.


The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey ("PANYNJ")

Approved: May 30, 2014 | Expires: May 31, 2019

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey provides World Trade Center Campus Security Assessment, Design, Architectural and Engineering Services (the “Technology”). The Technology consists of security risk assessments, and design and architectural/engineering services, used to incorporate security-related design features into building designs for the World Trade Center (“WTC”) Site as a part of the redevelopment of the WTC Site in New York City.


J&J International, LLC

Approved: April 08, 2014 | Expires: May 31, 2019

J & J International, LLC provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the "Technology"). The Technology is Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”)’s Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


Applied Engineering Management ("AEM") Corporation

Approved: December 18, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2017

Applied Engineering Management (“AEM”) Corporation provides the Program to Assist Risk and Resilience Examination (“PARRE”) software application (the “Technology”). The Technology is a software tool to assist facility operators in completing an all-hazards risk and resilience analysis of water sector critical infrastructure. The Technology incorporates the American Water Works Association’s standard for Risk and Resilience Management of Drinking Water and Wastewater Systems (“ANSI/AWWA J100-10”). The Technology also includes an integrated user’s guide.


The Boeing Company

Approved: September 26, 2013 | Expires: October 31, 2018

The Boeing Company provides Traffic Management Infrastructure Systems Security Services (the “Technology”). The Technology encompasses a range of services used to secure air traffic management infrastructure systems against unauthorized activities to support the safe and secure movement of goods and people. The Technology is limited to U.S. Government customers, namely, the U.S. Department of Transportation in support of the Federal Aviation Administration, and the John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center.


Five Star Airport Alliance, Inc.

Approved: September 17, 2013 | Expires: October 31, 2018

Five Star Airport Alliance, Inc. provides Baggage Screening Systems and Services (the "Technology"). The Technology is a set of services for the design, installation, and commissioning of automated baggage handling systems for checked baggage, including the programming necessary to achieve routing of baggage. The Technology is deployed in accordance with Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”) specifications and subject to TSA approval prior to full operations. The Technology also includes maintenance support services, associated manuals, checklists, and technical documents related to the Technology.


Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

Approved: September 12, 2013 | Expires: September 30, 2018

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey implements the LaGuardia Airport Security Program through a variety of procedures involving physical and electronic security measures, tools and procedures. These efforts include development and enforcement of the airport’s security plan, training of police and other security personnel, conducting background checks of airport workers and overseeing security systems.
