Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

P&L E-Communications, LLC, provides the AVT234, a video content analysis software program that utilizes a patented Target Motion Cueing (TMC) detection algorithm to monitor many existing video streams to detect objects or personnel entering an area. The Technology can automatically detect and cue operators to possible security threats while reducing false alarms from noise sources.


Meridian Medical Technologies, Inc.: AtroPen®

Meridian Medical Technologies, Inc., provides AtroPen®, a atropine auto-injector for the treatment of chemical nerve agent exposure.


Rapiscan Systems, Inc.: Metal Detection Systems

Rapiscan Systems, Inc. provides Metal Detection Systems. The Metal Detection Systems include hand-held and walk-through metal detectors that can be used to detect metal objects.


Valor Security Services: Security Services

Valor Security Services provides Security Services. These services include physical security project management and security guard staffing services for retail commercial facilities.


Unisys: Registered Traveler Solution

Approved: June 29, 2006 | Expires: April 30, 2011

Unisys provides Registered Traveler Solution, a biometric identification system comprised of hardware, software, and enrollment services.  Unisys supports these biometric identification systems with project management, installation, and integration services for both mobile and fixed biometric enrollment centers and checkpoints.


SafeView, Inc.: Scout™ Systems

Approved: December 08, 2005 | Expires: December 31, 2010

SafeView, Inc. provides The ScoutSystems which are security portals that use millimeter wave scanning technology to produce three-dimensional images of subjects for the purpose of detecting threat objects.


BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration, Inc.: Matador™ Infrared Countermeasure (IRCM) System

BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration, Inc. provides the Matador™ Infrared Countermeasure System which are are lamp-based infrared countermeasure missile-jamming systems that can be deployed on fixed-wing aircraft to defeat Generation 1 infrared  guided (i.e., heat-seeking) missiles.


General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, Inc.,: Joint Biological Point Detection System
