Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.





Company/Technology

Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority ("AZSTA")

Approved: December 17, 2014 | Expires: January 31, 2020

The Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority (“AZSTA”) provides the University of Phoenix (“UoPS”) Stadium Security Program (the “Technology”). The Technology is a comprehensive security program composed of policies; procedures; physical and electronic security equipment; and trained personnel to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate Acts of Terrorism, exclusively at UoPS (inclusive of the Stadium facility and Sportsman’s Park, which consists of the pedestrian plaza, parking lots, and lawn space surrounding the Stadium) on event and on non-event days. The Technology includes the development of security policies and procedures, and is performed in accordance with the NFL Best Practices for Stadium Security.


New Meadowlands Stadium Company, LLC

Approved: December 20, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2019

New Meadowlands Stadium Company, LLC provides the MetLife Stadium Security Program (the “Technology”). The Technology is an integrated security program composed of physical and electronic security measures, policies and procedures, and personnel, designed to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate Acts of Terrorism for use exclusively at Met Life Stadium, inclusive of the Stadium and parking lots, during National Football League (“NFL”) Game Days, Non-Game Days, and Special Events.


National Football League

Approved: November 14, 2013 | Expires: November 30, 2018

The National Football League provides National Football League (“NFL”) Best Practices for Stadium Security (the “Technology”). The Technology is a set of guidelines for football stadium security management designed to deter and defend against terrorist attacks at sports stadiums. It includes standards for non-game day operations, game day operations, and threat assessments and emergency plans. The Technology also includes the NFL’s Stadium Security Evaluation and Compliance Program, the hiring, vetting, qualifications, and training of the personnel used to provide the programs and services. The Technology does not include each NFL club’s or stadium owner’s or operator’s implementation of the Technology.


National Football League

Approved: December 19, 2008 | Expires: January 31, 2014

National Football League - NFL Best Practices for Stadium Security. The Technology is a set of guidelines for stadium security management designed to deter and defend against terrorist attacks at sports stadiums. It includes standards for non-game day operations, game day operations, and threat assessments and emergency plans. The Technology also includes the hiring, vetting, and training of personnel used to provide the services.


HOK Event, Inc.: Event Security Management Services for Super Bowl XLI, Miami, Florida

Approved: January 30, 2007 | Expires: February 29, 2012

HOK Event, Inc., provides Event Security Management Services for Super Bowl XLI, Miami, Florida. These services include the planning and coordination of perimeter and access control stations, as well as coordination with Federal, state, and local law enforcement, NFL Security, and other agencies prior to and during the Super Bowl.
