Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Checked Baggage Inspection Services

Approved: October 08, 2026 | Expires: April 30, 2034

The Turner Corporation, Turner Construction Company, Turner Construction Company of Ohio, LLC, The Lathrop Company, Inc., and Tompkins Builders, Inc. provide Checked Baggage Inspection System Services for the design, installation, and training on maintenance of checked baggage screening systems at airports.

Evolv Express

Approved: September 28, 2026 | Expires: March 31, 2032

Evolv Technologies, Inc. d/b/a Evolv Technology provides Evolv Express. The Technology is a relocatable, walk-through metal detector for the screening of people with or without hand-carried bags and/or personal items. The Technology also includes maintenance upgrades and customer support.

Electronic Security Service

Approved: September 28, 2026 | Expires: April 30, 2032

Securitas AB, Securitas Holdings, Inc., Securitas Services, Inc., Securitas Electronic Security, Inc., SecurityCo Solutions, Inc., and Securitas Technology Corporation provides Electronic Security Services. The Technology consists of design, engineering, installation, integration, monitoring, and maintenance services for electronic security systems. The Technology also includes manuals, training, and support services.

Airport Security Management Plan

Kenton County Airport Board provides the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG) Airport Security Management Plan. The Technology is the development and implementation of its Transportation Security Administration–Approved Airport Security Program, which includes physical and electronic security measures, tools, and procedures. The Technology also includes the operations and training of airport police, security, and rescue and firefighting personnel; operations of the Airport Operations Center and Emergency Operations Center; selection and integration of technical physical and technical security systems and procedures; airport security plans and planning documentation; and the maintenance of physical and technical security measures.

Real Time Tomography (RTT) 110 Explosive Detection Systems (EDS)

Rapiscan Systems, Inc., provides RTT®110 (RTT110) System. The Technology is an x-ray computed tomography (CT) baggage, parcel, and cargo screening system primarily designed to prevent prohibited items such as explosives from entering cargo and passenger aircraft. The Technology includes the operational test kit to validate performance before operation, operator training and maintenance training, warranty services, maintenance and repair services, spare parts support, operator and maintenance manuals, installation, and software and hardware updates.

Barriers

Approved: September 28, 2026 | Expires: January 31, 2031

Delta Scientific Corporation provides Vehicle Barriers, a family of crash-rated vehicle security barriers (the Technology). The Technology consists of fixed and transportable wedge barriers, bollards, and beam barriers, active bollards, and fixed crash gates. All SAFETY Act-protected models were crash-tested using ASTM International or Department of State test standards. Public and private sectors use the Technology for active access entry point and passive perimeter security as a deterrent and to prevent vehicles from being used to attack people, buildings, facilities, and infrastructure. The Technology includes a warranty; user manuals for installation, operations, maintenance, and safety; and other associated technical documentation.
