Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

API Standard 780 - Security Risk Assessment Methodology for the Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries

Approved: September 26, 2025 | Expires: September 30, 2032

The American Petroleum Institute (API) provides the Security Risk Assessment Methodology for the Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries in its publication, ANSI/API Standard 780-2003, Security Risk Assessment Methodology for the Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries. The Technology assists the petroleum and petrochemical industries in understanding and conducting security risk assessments by describing a recommended approach for assessing security risk applicable to the types of facilities operated by the industries and the security issues the industries face. The methodology described in the Standard is widely applicable to a full spectrum of security issues including terrorist attacks on assets containing hazardous materials such as chemical, refining, and petrochemical manufacturing operations, pipelines, and transportation operations including truck, marine, and rail.

The Technology is a comprehensive, integrated security program comprised of security policies and procedures, services and controls systems, and structural, physical, and technological security measures designed to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate acts of terrorism at Fenway Park.

Xonar Technology Inc. provides TruePort®. The Technology is a walk-through, radar-based detection system designed to discover weapons carried by a person. The Technology includes installation services, user training, remote system monitoring, and software and firmware upgrades.


Sound Logics LLC

Approved: August 25, 2025 | Expires: August 31, 2028

Sound Logics LLC provides its Threat Detection Safety System. The Technology is a gunshot detection tool designed to alert users to the presence of a suspected threat or occurrence of a gunshot and provide notifications for responding to the incident.


The Boeing Company

Approved: August 08, 2025 | Expires: September 30, 2030

The Boeing Company provides Security Monitoring Infrastructure System. The Technology is software suite which provides cybersecurity situational awareness and network security monitoring. The Technology also includes training and end-user technical literature (i.e., configuration and use manuals).


BioFlyte, Inc.

Approved: August 07, 2025 | Expires: August 31, 2030

Bioflyte, Inc. provides the BioTOF™ z200 Bio Aerosol Identifier and MailScreen™ 200 Hazardous Mail Workstation (the Technology). The Technology is biological and chemical mass spectrometers that use robotics and artificial intelligence to analyze aerosol samples for biological and chemical threats.


Volt Inc.

Approved: July 30, 2025 | Expires: August 31, 2025

Volt Inc. provides VOLT AI. The Technology is an AI model-enabled video analytics platform that monitors video feeds in real-time to identify events and flag these for human review and escalation. The Technology also includes data management via video feed and alerts; interface management via Volt Portal; and the installation, configuration, technical support services, training, and software updates.


Southern Methodist University (SMU)

Approved: July 28, 2025 | Expires: November 30, 2030

Southern Methodist University (“SMU”), a non-profit independent university chartered in the State of Texas and its affiliate, SMU Corp., incorporated in the State of Texas, provide SMU’s Security and Emergency Management Program (the “Technology”). The Technology includes policies, procedures, programs, equipment and personnel. SMU also provides security services as a subcontractor to the Office of Presidential Libraries, National Archives and Records Administration (“NARA”), for the George W. Bush Presidential Center (“GWBPC”) (“Bush Center”).


FinClusive Capital, Inc.

Approved: June 27, 2025 | Expires: July 31, 2030

FinClusive Capital, Inc. provides Terrorism Financing Detection Program. The Technology is a cloud-hosted software platform that enables customers to complete financial crimes compliance screens (i.e., anti-money laundering, know your customer, and customer due diligence) on parties making transactions via their business.
